How it works

Three steps, no account

01

Choose your image

Drag and drop a JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF file, or pick one from your device. We read its size and transparency instantly, before anything is uploaded.

02

Pick a quality level

Take the balanced default, or choose high quality for print and maximum compression for web pages and email.

03

Download your image

See exactly how much smaller it got, then download. The workspace resets itself so you can drop in the next one straight away.

Frequently asked questions

Is this image compressor really free?

Yes — compressing images is free, with no watermarks and no signup. There is no daily cap on how many images you can optimize.

Will my transparent PNG stay transparent?

Always. Transparency is detected before compression and carried through every step — we will never flatten an alpha channel onto a background colour. If a setting cannot preserve transparency, we keep the format that can instead of silently dropping it.

How much smaller will my image get?

Photos usually drop 60–80% on the balanced setting with no visible difference. Screenshots and flat graphics saved as PNG often drop further, because we palette-optimize them rather than just re-deflating the same pixels.

Does compressing change my image dimensions?

No. Width and height stay exactly as they were — we reduce the bytes needed to store the same pixels. Your image is never upscaled or cropped.

What happens to my photos after compression?

Files are uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed on our servers, and permanently deleted within 24 hours. Nobody looks at them and they are never shared.
