Why 50 KB is the classic photo-upload cap
Where 20 KB is the signature limit, 50 KB is the photograph limit: recruitment portals, banking and insurance exam registrations, university admissions and many government services commonly accept photos “up to 50 KB”. It is a deliberate compromise — enough bytes for a clear passport-style face photo, small enough that millions of applicants don’t overwhelm the portal.
