Why some uploads must be under 10 KB

10 KB is the tightest limit you will normally meet on an application portal, and it is almost always attached to a signature or a thumb-impression field rather than a photograph. Many recruitment and admission portals keep signature files this small because the image only needs to show a clear pen stroke on a plain background — a few hundred pixels are enough, and small files keep their servers fast during result season.
